His father Wang Shang was a renowned artist in Hong Kong in the 1950s. Under his influence, Wang was exposed to Chinese painting and calligraphy since childhood and was a student of both Huang Junbi and Pu Ru respectively. He is a practicing dermatologist in Michigan, US and an art collector. His works have been exhibited in China, the US, and Singapore.
