XU BEIHONG (1895-1953) Bamboo, Rock and Birds Hanging scroll, ink and colour on paper 139.2 x 53.5 cm x (54 3/4 x 21 1/8 in.) Inscribed and signed, with one seal of the artist Dedicated to Cuiming Dated wuyin year (1938) note: The painting was dedicated to Cuiming. Zhang Cuiming was the late grandmother of the current owner of this painting. It was acquired from an exhibition of Xu Beihongs paintings in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1938. The exhibition was dedicated to fundraising for war efforts at that time in China.
