ROBERT MOTHERWELL (1915-1991) Untitled, from The Basque Suite: Unique Variant (Belknap 57; Engberg & Banach 86) screenprint in colors with false platemark, circa 1971, on wove paper, presumably an unrecorded trial proof, annotated 'OK RM in presence of Chris Prater NY' in ink and '7' in pencil, with full margins, pale light-staining, occassional soft rubbing and scuffing, a 2-in. crescent shaped crease at lower right, two smaller handling creases at lower center and upper left, a soft fold at the upper right edge, hinge remains at the reverse of all four corners, otherwise in good condition, framed P. 22¾ x 17 5/8 in. (575 x 448 mm.) S. 27¾ x 21¾ in. (705 x 553 mm.)
