SIR DAVID WILKIE, R.A. (CULTS, FIFE 1785-1841 GIBRALTAR) The rabbit on the wall oil on panel 8 1⁄4 x 7 1⁄4 in. (21 x 18.4 cm.) This is a study for a work shown at the Royal Academy 1816, The Rabbit on the Wall - a candle-light amusement, in which a father entertains his children by making shadow puppets (Private collection).
