Colophon signed and inscribed by the artist with a description of a visit by a friend to whom Shen Zhou gave the picture as a parting gift, dated an autumn day in the first year of the Hongzhi era (1488) and with seven seals Twelve collectors' seals, including ten of the Shanghai collector and calligrapher Wang Hongxu (1645-1723)
