Metropolitan Triptych

Francis Bacon Metropolitan Triptych three etchings with aquatint in colours, 1974-77, on one sheet of wove paper, signed and dedicated 'For Alan' in pencil, inscribed 'AP', an artist's proof aside from the edition of 99 (there were also 15 hors commerce copies numbered in Roman numerals), published by Ediciones Polígrafa, S.A., Barcelona, with margins, light-staining, the colours slightly attenuated, occasional scattered pinpoint foxing mainly in the margins, a pale stain in the right margin, trimmed, with slightly irregular sheet edges, other minor defects P. 390 x 945 mm. (overall), S. 597 x 1099 mm.
