Signed, with one seal of the artist NOTE: According to the current owner, his mother lived in Shanghai before the family relocated to Hong Kong in the late 1940s. Being half French, she was acquainted with Lin Fengmian’s wife, who was also French. In 1956, after receiving permission to leave Shanghai, Lin’s wife travelled to Brazil, passing through Hong Kong, where she sold this painting to the family. It has remained in the family’s possession since the 1950s.
