VAN RIJN (1606-1669) Jan Uytenbogaert, Preacher of the Remonstrants etching 1635 on laid paper, apparently without watermark a very fine, early impression of the rare fourth state (of nine) printing very darkly and richly, with a subtle plate tone with small touches of burr on the sitter's right eye and elsewhere, and much inky relief with narrow margins or trimmed to or inside the platemark at right and above trimmed to the image below, the text border added and made up with pen and ink Sheet 226 x 184 mm.
