Max Ernst (1891-1976) Grand Tête (P.H. 1736) stamped with the artist's signature, the François and Pierre Hugo reference number and numbered 'max ernst 4/6 1370 1736' and stamped with the goldsmith's mark and the French assay mark (on the reverse) gold medallion 5 ½ x 5 5/8 in. (14 x 14.3 cm.) Executed in 1971 in gold, in a numbered edition of six plus two exemplaire d'artiste and two exemplaire d'auteur; with the wooden case
