Max Beckmann (1884-1950) Frontal Self-Portrait with House Gable in Background (Hofmaier 125 II B.a.) drypoint, 1918, on wove paper, signed in pencil, a good impression from the largely unnumbered edition of one hundred on this paper (there was also an edition of fifty on Japon), the full sheet, a deckle edge at right and below, a circa 45 mm. repaired tear at the upper sheet edge, a flattened hard crease across the lower left corner, another in the lower right corner, other, minor creases and soiling in the margins, the subject in good condition P. 305 x 256 mm., S. 528 x 380 mm.
