Inscribed and signed, with one seal of the artist Dated March, 1967 All scrolls dedicated to Xingfu (4) Note: Steve Lu was a student of Pu Ru and an avid supporter of Chinese arts and culture. Having studied at the Central University of Nanjing, Lu was a seal carver by profession, having created seals for Yu Youren and Zhang Daqian. Lu was also skilled in geomancy and calligraphy. Lu founded Cathay Antique and Arts in 1950, and was a patron for the Exhibition of Paintings of Chang Dai-Chien in March 1963 held at the Victoria Theatre and Memorial Hall in Singapore. A selection of paintings from his collection was previously sold in our salerooms in November 2013 and June 2015.
