Jean (Hans) Arp (1886-1966) Affiche St. Gallen I with the estate stamp 'SUCC. JEAN ARP' (lower right) collage on paper 25 3/8 x 19 5/8 in. (65.1 x 49.8 cm.) Executed in 1966; this work is the original collage for an edition of 500 posters produced to advertise the exhibition Hans Arp (St. Gallen, Galerie Im Erker, Hans Arp, 5 November 1966 - 31 January 1967). Prior to this edition, this collage was also used as the design for a limited edition colour silkscreen for the Künstverein Hamburg in 1966 (see W. F. Arntz, Hans (Jean) Arp, DAS GRAPHISCHE WERK 1912-1966, The Hague, 1980, no. 364, p. 282 (illustrated p.276)).
