Ben Nicholson, O.M. (1894-1982) 1970 (Lavenham) signed, inscribed and dated '(LAVENHAM) Cut by FV private collection 1970/Nicholson over' (on the reverse) pencil and thinned oil wash 18 x 11 in. (45.7 x 28 cm.) Executed in 1970. The reverse of the sheet bears an impression of Paros Tree (Lafranca 76), an etching dating from 1967 printed in an edition of 50. The impression has been defaced with red and blue paint.
